Objectives The primary objective is the delivery of technical MEP solutions for the Property and Infrastructure department of this globally renouned engineering consultancy. Responsibilities The main duties of the Senior Mechanical Engineer include, but are not limited to: • Technical delivery of projects, in a Lead Engineer capacity where required (depending on project category) • Develop innovative technical solutions • Interface and co-ordinate work with multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., civil, structural, Mechanical, and Hydraulic/Fire) • Interface with clients on project technical, commercial and progress matters • Support design management of projects and bids • Project manage small/medium projects • Encourage the promotion of, and compliance with, quality, safety and environmental systems • Assist in the development, promotion and implementation of company technical strategies • Act as mentor to less experienced team members • Line management responsibility for assigned staff • Ensure capture of key project and technical knowledge Authorities Senior Management responsibility for assigned staff Mentoring of junior and graduate electrical engineers Education • Relevant electrical engineering degree • Chartered engineer • Membership of appropriate professional institution • Appropriate second degree would be desirable, but not essential Skills and Experience • Excellent communication and motivation skills • Team player • Problem solver ie “Can –do” attitude • Client facing skills • Motivated • Able to deal with clients and contractors • Experience of leading technical delivery projects • Work in an engineering design consultancy • Experience of working on design and construct projects • Experience of scoping for and delivering work through an offshore resource extension Core Competencies Client Focus: Apply and develop tailored technical solutions.
